Key Features of the Project:
• Distance and Speed: The corridor will span 435 km, with trains operating at a maximum speed of 350 kmph.
• Travel Time: The travel time between Mysuru and Chennai will be reduced to 2 hours and 25 minutes, compared to the current 6 hours and 30 minutes by the Vande Bharat Express .
• Stations: Key stations along the proposed route include Chennai, Poonamallee, Arakkonam (Tamil Nadu), Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh), Bangarapet (Karnataka), Bengaluru, Channapatna, Mandya, and Mysuru .
Significance:
The Mysuru-Bengaluru-Chennai region is a high-density corridor popular among both the general public and the business class. The proposed high-speed train route holds strategic significance for the country, with potential plans to extend it from Mysuru to Mangaluru.
